Dr Angela Baker

With more than 20 years’ experience in anaesthesia, Dr Angela Baker is a Senior Staff Specialist at John Hunter Hospital and has worked across Australia and the UK, including completing a Paediatric Fellowship in Glasgow.

Angela works alongside Dr Yvette and Sorella’s all-female theatre team at Newcastle Private Hospital each month. Having worked with Dr Yvette for almost eight years, she is proud of the theatre environment they have created together – one built around teamwork, clinical excellence, dignity and compassion.

For Angela, good anaesthetic care starts well before a patient reaches the operating theatre. Her goal is simple: for every woman to feel listened to, well prepared, safe and supported.

Angela always contacts patients before their procedure, giving them an opportunity to discuss any concerns or questions, and carefully reviews their health information so their anaesthetic care is tailored to their individual needs.

Outside medicine, Angela enjoys keeping fit, walking Newcastle’s coastline, reading, podcasts and time with her family and dog, Sophie.
