Philippa Dean

As Sorella’s Senior Gynaecology Nurse, Philippa assists Yvette with examinations and procedures, calls patients to check on their recovery and update them on results and is there to answer questions and concerns along the way.

Philippa has worked in nursing since 1998 and holds postgraduate qualifications in cancer and clinical nursing. Her career has included roles as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in gynaecology, a clinical trial coordinator in medical oncology, ovarian cancer support nursing and cancer care coordination.

Calm, considered and flexible are three words Philippa believes her colleagues would use to describe her – and they’re qualities she brings to every patient interaction at Sorella.

For her, Sorella is a safe space where women can ask questions and know their needs come first, and she wants every woman to feel welcome and seen, free to ask questions and confident they will receive individualised care without judgement.

A Newcastle local, Philippa lives with her husband and two dogs. She loves travelling overseas, dining out and hearing patients’ stories about their own travels – and their pets.
